VoIP Solutions Week in Review: GeoComm, Edgewater Networks, Elision Technolab & More
Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in the VoIP space this week.
VoIP has several benefits—low cost, improved flexibility when it comes to the mobile workforce, etc. However, using VoIP phone can actually make it harder for responders to find callers during an emergency. This is simply because wireline callers are easier to locate than wireless callers. To fight this problem, GeoComm has teamed up with RapidSOS to create a solution that will improve location accuracy and therefore provide faster and more reliable 9-1-1 responses to VoIP callers. Find out more about this lifesaving solution HERE.
Next up, we took a look at Elision Technolab’s new multi-tenant IP PBX. As writer Michael Guta points out, “A multi-tenant IP PBX solution lets the landlord and tenant deliver and access a wide range of communications services using a Web-based configuration and virtualization to isolate the system of one business from another. This separation offers more control, as well as being able to provide services for new streams of revenue.” Find some of the other benefits of this solution HERE.
Edgewater Networks also introduced a new offering this week: the EdgeMarc 2900e Intelligent Edge devices. According to the company, the new devices are suited for Hosted PBX or SIP Trunking applications that do not require analog lines. The overall goal of the new devices is to make the delivery of VoIP solutions as easy as possible. Everything you need to know is HERE.
Finally, the week rounded out with a closer look at some of the unique features VoIP has to offer. As I said before, there are numerous, well-known benefits to VoIP solutions, such as lower operational costs. However, as TMC’s Tracey Schelmetic points out, there are several lesser known, but still equally as important, options to choose from. Find out more about these unique offerings HERE.
That’s all for this week. Come back next week to read all the latest news in the VoIP space.
